Information

The package bundles nodes that bring news and announcements from information feeds into Node-RED. It currently contains the RSS Feed node for RSS and Atom feeds.

Included nodes​

rss-feed

RSS Feed

Fetches RSS and Atom feeds, filters out entries already seen and emits new posts as NewsObserved objects.

Open node

Installation​

npm install @htag/node-red-contrib-hypertegrity-information

Alternatively, install the package in the Node-RED editor via Menu → Manage palette → Install by searching for hypertegrity-information.

Shared notes​

  • Dependencies: The package uses the rss-parser library to read RSS and Atom. It is installed automatically with the package.
  • Context storage: The RSS Feed node remembers processed entries in the global context. For production use, the context store should be persistent.
  • Personal data: Feeds may contain names of authors. Check whether this information may be passed on before publishing it in the context broker.
